Hi, I’m Kishalay Sarkar, a passionate explorer of the mathematical universe — currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Toledo (UT), Ohio, USA. I am also a fully-funded Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics here. My research interests lie primarily in geometry, topology and complex analysis, fields that allow us to understand the deep structure of spaces and shapes — from the abstract curves of higher dimensions to the intricate symmetries hidden in mathematical objects.

Before this, I served as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, where I had the privilege of working at the intersection of research, rigor, and rich mathematical traditions.

My academic journey began in Belur, West Bengal, India, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, a place that nurtured both my intellectual curiosity and personal discipline.

I then pursued my Master’s degree at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI) — an institute steeped in both scholarly and spiritual heritage.

This blog is my personal notebook and public blackboard — a space where I document what I learn, reflect on deep mathematical ideas, and engage with fellow learners and researchers. Whether you’re a student, a seasoned mathematician, or simply curious about the beautiful logic that governs our universe, I hope you’ll find something here to spark your interest.
